By installing the CanvasCal browser extension or using the calendar feed it generates, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use CanvasCal.
CanvasCal is a browser extension, built by broken_boness, that reads Canvas assignments with due dates from your account and publishes them as a private calendar feed you can subscribe to. CanvasCal is currently in private testing and is provided free of charge. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Instructure or your school.
CanvasCal requires a Canvas personal access token to read your assignments. You're responsible for keeping that token secure and for complying with your institution's and Canvas's own acceptable use policies when generating and using it. You can revoke a token at any time from your Canvas account settings, which will stop CanvasCal from syncing until you connect a new one.
Your calendar feed is addressed by an unguessable link rather than a login. You're responsible for keeping that link private. Anyone who has it can view the assignment data in it. If a link is exposed, use Get a new link in the extension to generate a replacement and stop the old one from working.
You agree not to:
CanvasCal is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. As a project in private testing, features may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued at any time without notice. We don't guarantee that assignment data will always be complete, accurate, or delivered to your calendar app on any particular schedule. Calendar apps like Google Calendar control how often they re-check a subscribed feed, which is outside our control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, broken_boness is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of CanvasCal, including missed assignments or due dates. CanvasCal is a convenience tool and does not replace checking Canvas directly for authoritative due dates.
We may update CanvasCal or these terms as the project develops. If terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
You can stop using CanvasCal at any time by disconnecting from the extension's menu, which deletes your synced data, or by simply removing the extension. We may also suspend or discontinue the service at our discretion.
Questions about these terms can be sent through broken_boness.
